This section has nothing to do with our business ventures. The online Brigade art gallery has been put together for your viewing pleasure.

After all, city aesthetics, in which we are involved through our buildings, should receive the magic touch of works of art.

The common factor in our collection of paintings, sculptures, photographs, illustrations and murals is a deep sensitivity and soaring creative spirit. We are proud to have them in our permanent art collection. The doors of our corporate offices are always open to those who would enjoy viewing these works of art.

Art, in its different forms, has also been the subject of calendars by Brigade Group. Below is a gallery of art in Brigade Group’s calendars.

MAGICAL MYSORE

Magical Mysore
If Bangalore is the commercial capital of Karnataka, Mysore is its cultural headquarters. This year the Brigade Calendar 2007 takes you on a trip to this magical city and its exciting environs. Capturing the spirit of its history, architecture, literary inheritance, tradition and festivals through vibrant photographs by renowned photographers, accompanied by short write-ups.

JOURNEY AROUND
CHIKMAGALUR

Journey Around Chikmagalur
Our 2006 calendar reflects both an exciting future and a precious past. For it features a journey around Chikmagalur, a quiet plantation town in Karnataka— home to Brigade Group’s founders and also the site of our newest venture, a 33-acre resort. Taking you on a journey to some of the most important historical, cultural and religious monuments and shrines in India.

CLASSIC MOMENTS
IN THE FOREST

Classic Moments in the Forest
With 17 wildlife sanctuaries, 8 bird sanctuaries and 5 national parks, Karnataka plays host to a truly impressive range of birds and animals. Following the nature theme, our journey in 2005 featured an anthology of thirteen classic wildlife photographs. These stunning images were captured by eight of Karnataka’s leading wildlife photographers—all of whom have won prestigious international honours.

BIRDS

Birds
Wildlife photography, another form of art, found a place in our 2004 calendar. And from the wide, wonderful canvas of wildlife, we chose birds. Picked from the portfolios of three outstanding wildlife photographers of Karnataka, the calendar depicted many colourful birds specifically found in and around Bangalore city.

ILLUSTRATIONS

Illustrations
In keeping with our theme, the 2003 calendar saw a series of black and white sketches by Kamalesh, a well-known artist from Karnataka. With just a few lines of varying thickness and hints of sunlight and shadow, the sketches covered famous heritage sites—bringing to life some of Bangalore's most loved landmarks.

TREES

Trees
This time it was a form of art created and shaped by nature. The 2002 calendar highlighted Bangalore’s horticultural haven status, depicting the city’s many flowering trees. From the delicate pink Tabebuia to the flaming red Gulmohar, this calendar featured delightfully familiar sights across the seasons.

MURALS

Murals
After paintings, photographs and sculptures, we directed our focus towards building walls—a canvas for the palette of human imagination. Our 2001 calendar featured 6 murals by well-known artists drawn from our various projects. The murals are another example of concrete extensions of our patronage towards art.

PHOTOGRAPHS
BY CLARE ARNI

Photographs by Clare Arni
Art was closer to home in the Brigade 2000 calendar. Photographer Clare Arni's creative eye explored and discovered stunningly graphic forms in our immediate surroundings—some of Brigade Group's own buildings. We hope you will enjoy this unusual perspective as much as we have.

PHOTOGRAPHS
BY C. RAJAGOPAL

Photographs by C. Rajagopal
The theme of art continued with the focus on photography as an art form. The works of C.Rajagopal, a pictorialist of world renown, was the subject of our next calendar. Rajagopal's world of magical realism touched hearts, warmed dulled senses and gave us a richer, softer view of life.

SCULPTURES

Sculptures
Our second calendar featured the three-dimensional world of sculpture, when we showcased the work of six renowned sculptors of Karnataka. Once again, the range was extraordinary: style extended from the traditional to the contemporary, the medium from bronze, to wood, to stone.

PAINTINGS

Our very first calendar, featuring paintings specially commissioned by us, came from the imaginations and palettes of six leading artists of Karnataka. These paintings ranged in style and subject from near-photographic realism to the sublimely abstract, from simple lines to densely delightful detail.
