The 2001 calendar brought
to life another form of art promoted by the Brigade Group. After
paintings, photographs, and sculptures, we directed our focus towards
the building walls. A plain wall is a canvas for the myriad palette
of human imagination. A source of inspiration. Inspiration that
enlivens the creator in all of us and makes artists of mere mortals
who go on to create immortal works of art.
Brigade projects have played host to an unique alchemy where the
confluence of inspiration and creativity resulted in walls being
crafted into murals by twelve talented hands. Renowned during the
Renaissance period, murals were the end result of the artist's
efforts to blend perspective and architecture to create illusory
effects. Paintings were made to look like they were real extensions
of buildings. Our murals however are concrete extensions of our
patronage towards art.
