Bhaskar Rao, is popular as one of the progressive painters of Karnataka.
He is the recipient of several Karnataka Lalit Kala Akademi awards.
His paintings are included in many private collections in India and abroad, as
well as those at the Lalit Kala Akademi in Delhi, Bangalore and Madras, and reputed
corporate houses all over India.
Bhaskar Rao's work has been featured in state-level, regional and national exhibitions
of the Lalit Kala Akademi and at the Bharat Bhavan Biennial of Contemporary Indian
Art. He has to his credit about 30 one-man and group shows in various cities,
including shows at the prestigious Jehangir Art Gallery in Bombay and Crimson
Art Resource in Bangalore.
He has participated in several all-India camps in painting, sculpture, terracota
and techno art, including the SAARC All-India Artists Camp.
Bhaskar Rao has also executed some specially commissioned murals in Bangalore.
