"Dream" by N. Marishamachar
N. Marishamachar, is a first rank graduate from the Ken School of Art,
Bangalore. He has also studied under Prof. K.G. Subramanyan at the Faculty of
Fine Arts in Baroda's M.S. University.
He has won awards at two All India Exhibitions and at the Karnataka Lalit Kala
Akademi and Mysore Dasara exhibitions.
His paintings have been exhibited at the Viswa Kannadigara Sammelana at Manchester
in U.K. and in one-man and group shows all over India, including several Karnataka
Lalit Kala Akademi exhibitions.
Marishamachar's paintings feature in renowned private collections in India and
Europe, as well as collections at the Lalit Kala Akademi in Bangalore and Delhi
and the Raj Bhavan in Bangalore.
He is a writer on art in Kannada and has authored many books on traditional and
contemporary Indian art and artists. He is the co-editor of several periodicals
on art.
He is the founder and president of Samyojitha—a group of contemporary artists
in Karnataka.
