Green, beautiful landscapes
heighten customer delight
Few commercial establishments can enjoy the setting that Orion Mall does: within the beautifully landscaped, 40-acre Brigade Gateway integrated lifestyle enclave. Landscaped gardens, pedestrian paths and tree-shaded avenues will separate different sections of the enclave from each other. Aerial walkways will connect different facilities. Wide, median-split roads will ensure the smooth flow of internal traffic.
Orion Mall is in a rare and rarefied environment. And the creative landscaping—at and around the mall—adds to that feeling. And will be a constant source of delight to you, your staff…and your customers.
An ideal urban environment
The masterplan of Brigade Gateway—of which Orion Mall is a part—takes form around a promenade-fringed, central lake. Around it are residential apartments, set amidst gardens and courtyards; a club; a 5-star hotel; WTC Bangalore, Bangalore’s tallest office building; the main Columbia Asia hospital, The Brigade School and, of course, Orion Mall.
Landscaping in the immediate vicinity of Orion Mall
The man-made lake
A tranquil man-made lake, with a tree at its centre, rests at the heart of the enclave.
The enclave’s different facilities are set around it. The lake will be surrounded by landscaped gardens, seating areas, benches, a tree-lined promenades and open-air cafés. It’ll be an ideal place for a quiet read, peaceful conversations or relaxing outings with children.
The Promenade
The promenade will run along the lake, fringed by placid water on one side and trees, stretches of garden, shade-giving overhangs, benches and lakeside cafés on the other. The Promenade will be a wonderful place to walk: partly shaded during the day, very well-lit at night.
The lakeside cafés
With beautiful lakeside views, the cafés at Orion Mall are designed to draw and delight customers. Spread along the Promenade, shaded by umbrellas, they invoke an European-style ambience.
…and inside the Mall
Lakeside views
Lakeside views are also possible from the cafés inside the mall. The Pedestrian Plaza, designed as a main feature of the mall, will offer stunning lakeside views (and exciting previews of the mall’s mix of retail, F&B and entertainment features). These views will also be possible from a variety of fortunately-placed places within Orion Mall.
The atrium: a showcase for greenery
Orion Mall’s atrium will be a spectacular sight—spanning 4 levels and offering wonderful views. One feature of the atrium is a massive skylight which will allow the Atrium to become an indoor garden centre, rich with a variety of full-grown trees, plants and flowers. Benches in the Atrium will provide relaxing vantage points from which to absorb the beauty of the surroundings.
Imaginative water features
Water features spread across ground floor and plaza level create a beautiful, seamless feel.
Many entertainment and gathering areas
Orion Mall has a number of public spaced, indoor and out, that will enjoy the benefits of rich landscaping and scenic views. These include the 1000-seater Amphitheatre (at the plaza level), the exhibition area (on the 3rd floor), event space at the ground floor lobby area and the imaginatively designed children’s play area
An eco-friendly enclave
The Brigade Gateway enclave will incorporate several environmentally sound measures like:
Sewage Treatment: Decomposable organic matter in the sewage will be stabilised in a compact, underground sewage treatment plant. The resultant effluent and sludge will be harmlessly disposed of. After tertiary treatment, the water will be used for flushing and for watering plants.
Rainwater Disposal: Vertical rainwater pipes from the terrace floor will empty into external storm water drains at ground level. Rainwater from balconies and various floors will be connected to the nearest pipe and emptied to the external storm water network.
Storm Water Disposal: All storm water will travel through the underground drainage system to the rainwater harvesting system. Box drains with catch basins, to collect rainwater, will be located at the periphery of the building and in open areas. Excess water will flow to the existing storm water drain outside the premises.
Basement Drainage System: Storm water/car wash water will be collected in catch basins located below the basement slab and conveyed by pipes to two underground storm water sumps.
Rainwater Harvesting System: Will comprise soak pits connected to box drains, storm water recharge cells and water bodies. This system will help to recharge the aquifers/sub-soil.
