EDITOR'S NOTE

These are well-known, well-worn words: We are in the beginning of the Information Age. We are in the midst of an information explosion. Not only can we hear it, we are deafened by it and engulfed by it. Some are worried, some are excited.

The entire Encyclopedia Britannica is available free on the internet ! And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. We are truly inundated by information, you can say. Adding to the clamor are news-stories of amazing new internet technologies and mega fortunes made, which pop up before us everyday. The IT goldrush is well and truly on. As we cross over to the next millennium, we must pause. Keep our calm amid the frantic thrashing about. We must reflect on these questions posed by T.S.Eliot, one of the twentieth century’s greatest minds and a poet of, as we see now, prophetic vision....
.... and then step into the new century of great hope and promise.
